How does online luxury authentication work?
You submit clear photos and details of your item through our online form and pay the flat $15 fee. An independent professional authentication partner examines your item using brand-specific details like construction, materials, stitching, hardware, engravings, labels, and date codes. Your result and a digital Certificate of Authenticity are sent to you by email.
How much does authentication cost?
Authentication is a flat $15 per item. Payment is made when you submit your photos.
How long does it take?
Estimated turnaround is 2–5 business days after we receive both your submission and your payment.
Do I need to ship my item?
No. This is a fully digital service. Everything is done from the photos you upload, so your item never leaves your hands.
What items and brands do you authenticate?
We review designer handbags, wallets, accessories, VIP gifts, gift-with-purchase items, event exclusives, and promotional pieces. Brands include Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Hermès, Dior, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Celine, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Coach, MCM, Givenchy, Cartier, and more.
Can VIP and gift-with-purchase items be authenticated?
Yes. VIP gifts, GWP items, event exclusives, and promotional pieces can all be submitted. Just select Yes for the VIP/GWP question on the submission form so your item is reviewed with that in mind.
What photos do I need to submit?
Upload one clear certificate photo plus detailed images of your item. The most helpful photos show the front, back, sides, bottom, handles or strap, interior, hardware and engravings, the back of the zipper pull, the brand label, the MADE IN tag, the serial number or date code, and any accessories. Good lighting and sharp, close-up shots make the biggest difference.
Which photo goes on my certificate?
The first photo you upload, the Certificate Photo, is the image that appears on your certificate. It can't be changed once your form is submitted, so choose a clean, flattering shot of the full item.
What if my photos are unclear or incomplete?
If we need better images, we'll ask you for updated photos once at no additional charge.
What do I receive?
You receive your authentication result and a digital Certificate of Authenticity by email. Your certificate can be shared with buyers, resale platforms, or consignment businesses.
Who performs the authentication?
Authenticate & Co coordinates with independent professional third-party authentication partners. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the luxury brands listed, and our certificate is not a certification, warranty, or guarantee issued by an original brand.
What is your refund policy?
The $15 fee is non-refundable once your item has been submitted for processing. If a recognized, accredited third-party authentication service later assesses the same item as non-authentic, you may request a review of your order and a refund by providing written documentation.
